I was EXTREMELY tired of my messy shelves. I always say I operate better in a mess, but it is my goal to not have a messy classroom anymore. I know where everything is in my classroom, and where things go on the shelves, but I was tired of the materials not being put back where they came from. I know where things go, but if nobody else does, it won’t matter. It was time to do something. The thing that changed everything: ADDING SHELVES!!! Plus, making sure the shelves were big enough and had enough layers of shelves on each individual shelf. Here is a video where I rearrange my math and language shelves. I still have yet to do the cultural shelves, but I am excited to get those done, as well.
Just a note: my classroom is extremely organized work wise (due to my scope and and sequence and maps), but it is messy. I wanted to point it out here that organized is NOT the same thing as messy. :)
