FAQs

Will I be fluent in Spanish in 8 weeks?

Nope! Learning learning is a journey and for the fact you will always be learning Spanish! Hate to break it to you, but you are also still learning English (or whatever you native language may happen to be!)

Will there be homework?

Language learning takes practice. You are welcome to (and I would suggest you do) practice what we practice and learn in the weekly one-hour sessions. If you are doing the self-paced option, you should practice what you learn at your own pace.

I would suggest practicing sounds and finding videos, music, podcasts, etc. to listen to throughout the eight weeks so you can make the most out of this experience. I can always suggest some of my favorites to you.

Can I ask you questions outside of the sessions during the eight weeks?

Yes! You can message me anytime about your language learning journey throughout the eight weeks. We could message through email, Instagram messenger, or perhaps another way that works for you. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

When can I start the program?

As there are 1:1 sessions or self-paced, you can sign up when you are ready. If you choose the guided option, you will start sessions when we agree upon a time and date.

What happens at the end of the eight weeks?

After the program, you should have the confidence to continue your language learning journey on your own, but I would also be more than happy to continue to assist you on your language learning journey.

You can also practice with my fun and interactive ways to learn Spanish (like the Online Spanish Puzzles, Free Monthly activities to help you learn Spanish (Monthly Memberships and Courses coming soon!)

 What about Grammar?

¡Hola! Soy Bethany. ¿Y tú.png

I LOVE grammar, but studying hours of grammar is not going to make you conversational or get very far in your language learning journey.

Instead of teaching grammar in the “traditional way”, I teach grammar to you while you learn how to speak.

How?!

First, the purpose of grammar is to make sure you have the right syntax (which is just how the words need to be placed in a sentence. For example, we say “Hi, how are you?” instead of “Are Hi! you how?”)

I use grammar symbols (originally created by Montessori) to teach grammar. Don’t worry—There are only nine symbols to learn (and way easier than learning tons of grammar!).

This is a visual way to learn grammar (so you make sure you got the syntax down!)

Why should I be your guide on this language learning journey?

I learned Spanish as a second language through the traditional method of high school and then I went on to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish.

After that time, I realized there is a better way to learn languages. I want to share my knowledge and excitement of language learning with you!
